Stainless steel sheet application

Stainless Steel Sheet is any metal sheet made up of stainless steel. There are different types of stainless steel material. There are different levels of treatments to bring about different strength levels. There are also differences in the making procedures of the Stainless Steel Sheet. These are used in textile industry, the transportation industry, chemical industries, food processing industry and construction industries. The requirements vary according to the application.

The transportation industry uses the steel sheets to cover surfaces of heavily used platforms in order to reduce wear and tears. The sheets could also be used as internal and external layers in tankers where corrosive liquids could be stored. In the construction industry, the stainless steel sheets may be used as covering materials on much corrosive, non-steel material.

There are different grades and specifications which allow for different mechanical properties. These differences are mainly caused because of the composition. Most stainless steels use alloy materials. The composition may include chromium, nickel, molybdenum, manganese, vanadium, titanium and phosphorus. For very specific applications like sulfuric acid rich environments, copper is added. Sulfur is also added to address some other acidic conditions. The applications differ widely and the steel could be custom made to cater different applications. The 304 stainless steel plate is one of the most commonly used in the industry because it is less expensive compared to its counterparts. It is strong, corrosion resistant and is cost effective. The ss 316 sheet price is affordable to any buyer as well.
